Hummer e-SUV skyrockets to iconic status within 24 hours since launch

The five-door SUV version of the GMC Hummer EV only debuted a few days ago, but the entire Edition 1 batch of vehicles had been sold within less a day.
General Motors opened pre-order books straight after the presentation, and those who put their money into the Edition 1 apparently did not mind that actual shipments would not begin until two years later.
The limited series flaunts a minimum price tag of U.S. $105,595 and brings along leather cabin, 22-inch wheels, and a 14-channel Bose audio system.
Opting for the $5,000 Extreme Off-Road package adds underbody protection, 18-inch wheels, 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires, a front diff lock and an imitated rear diff lock that enables twin motors at the rear end to work in perfect sync.
The three-motor powertrain produces 842 PS (830 hp / 620 kW) and 15,590 Nm (11,500 lb-ft) of torque, enabling a zero-to-hero launch in 3.5 seconds. The range is estimated at 450 kilometers (280 miles).
