Ford Ranger Raptor X revises design, keeps tech in Australia
Ford has unveiled the Raptor X variant of its Ranger pickup in Australia, which is all show and the same go as before.
The Raptor X boasts sporty body stripes, special wheels, red towing eyes, and 33-inch tires, as well as black accents such as door handles, air intakes, and fog light housings. Red stitching on the dashboard and the steering wheel helps brighten things up inside.
Pop up the hood, and you will be looking at the old two-liter turbo diesel mill only good for 210 PS (207 hp / 154 kW). Earlier rumors suggested that the top specification would get a 5.0-liter V8 rated at 455 PS (450 hp / 335 kW), just like the Mustang GT, but Ford must have found it not viable. The claims that the Raptor X would take its gearbox and suspension from the F-150 also proved false.
Sales Down Under will begin in two months.
