The Estrema Fulminea EV is a 1,500kW hypercar due out in 2H 2023

Automobili Estrema, a budding automaker founded by former Fisker exec Gianfranco Pizzuto in Turin, unveiled its first hypercar project named the Fulminea.

The extreme ride weighs in at mere 1,507 kilos (3,322 lbs), and has a battery that is lighter than 300 kg (660 lbs). Despite this, it can cover up to 520 kilometers (323 miles) on a charge, the company claims based on the WLTP measurement standard.

Power comes from four electric motors joining their efforts for 2,040 PS (2,012 HP / 1,500 kW), putting the Estrema Fulminea ahead of the Lotus Evija and the Rimac C_Two.

The only dynamic parameter revealed so far is the 0-320 km/h (0-199 mph) sprint time, which is ‘under ten seconds’. For comparison, the upcoming Lotus Evija should be able to use its 2,000-HP powertrain to hit 300 km/h (186 mph) in nine seconds flat. Having said that, no real-world tests exist to support either claim.

The live premiere will be held in Turin, Italy on May 13, but the first cars will not ship until the second half of 2023, and prices remain to be announced.
