New Ferrari hybrid launch date announced

Ferrari will reveal its brand-new supercar known only as the F171 on next Thursday, June 24, 2021.

The video teaser stars David Tonizza, Formula 1 champion and Ferrari Academy driver, but conspicuously fails to feature the car itself. All spy shots available so far depict a vehicle buried in layers upon layers of camo. Even so, we can conclude that the front end and the lights look much like those of the SF90 Stradale, while the rest of the body looks typical Ferrari.

When the newcomer hits the showrooms, it will have to fight for buyers’ attention against the McLaren Artura. The latter debuted four months ago and packed a V6-based powertrain good for 680 PS (671 hp / 500 kW) and 720 Nm (531 lb-ft) of torque.

The Ferrari should prove more powerful than that, likely coming with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 and an electric motor. The output should be comparable to the F8 Tributo’s 720 PS (710 hp / 530 kW). All-electric driving range will likely be limited to 30 kilometers (18 miles) at most, and unlike the range-topping SF90 Stradale, the new model will probably be RWD.
