Check out this crazy realistic Jeep Wrangler ad
A video recently filmed somewhere in China shows a rather breathtaking way to advertise the Jeep Wrangler on a giant 3D display mounted at the corner of a building.
The screen excels in making the virtual five-door SUV look real, so take care not to drop your phone when it suddenly crosses the frame boundaries and appears to fall out of the frame. The illusion may be a marketing gimmick, but a professionally executed one all the same.
Making ads work hasn’t always been easy for U.S. automakers, of course. You may remember that this summer, GMC produced an off-roader promotional video where it bluntly compared its SUVs and pickup trucks against a sedan, a coupe and a supercar by other marques. The idea was simple – you must always use an appropriate vehicle type for your goals – but the execution came across as immature at best.
