Chevrolet C10 gets bent hood before auction

What do you even know about bad luck? Imagine having a rare collector’s Chevy C10 pickup dating back to 1980 and bringing it to Mecum’s only to damage its hood cover minutes before the sale begins.

Apparently, the owner applied excess force when he slammed the cover shut. We are told that C10 trucks were infamous for this specific vulnerability, but it still does not explain why anyone would treat their car with such lack of care just before the auction. Perhaps the seller was anxious; that is quite relatable.

In the video, the announcer says the restored and modernized truck was damaged, so the winning bidder will be getting $1,500 to have it repaired and re-painted.

According to Motor1, Mecum’s was not responsible for the incident. On a brighter note, the truck still fetched $31,900 USD - this model has experienced a sort of renaissance lately, so many were willing to buy it.
