Renault takes interest in Stella Vita, a sustainable campervan concept from Sweden

Just last month, we reported about a rather interesting solar campervan prototype built by a team of students from Norway. It had enough solar panels to cover an extra 730 km (453 miles) when the batteries run dry. To prove the concept, the students went on a tour across Europe and stopped at Renault HQ for a while.

A team of specialists from Mobilize, Renault’s recently founded innovation branch, gave a warm welcome to the students, showed them some of the electric cars designed by the Renault, shared some technical nuances, and had a close look at the Stella Vita.

The motorhome powered by solar energy impressed Renault Mobilize enough for it to promise the Swedish team technical assistance and access to Renault’s EV expertise and research. We are told that the vehicle may go into production in 2030, but only if there is enough infrastructural development and further research into solar panel efficiency.
