Video: Honda Civic Type R test-driven on Suzuka Raceway

Honda has treated us to detailed photos and a pair of videos showing the upcoming Civic Type R – albeit still a camouflaged one.

In the video, the manufacturer has emphasized the effort that went – and goes – into developing the new Type R. The car can be seen doing lap after lap on the Suzuka Raceway in Japan only to return to the workshop for tire replacement and other maintenance. The driver then immediately takes it to the track again. Night comes, but the team continues working.

The footage is rich in car close-ups, so now is the time to watch it if you wanted to see the 2023 Civic Type R up close. Rumor has it the performance hatch will come equipped by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder rated higher than the current generation’s 310 PS (306 hp / 228 kW). Manual should remain the only transmission option.
