V8 Confirmed: Ford Mustang GT has that juicy rumble in a new spy video

A well-disguised Ford Mustang prototype from the next generation has just been spotted snooping around the company’s Dearborn headquarters. In addition to the usual photos, we now have a video that shows the body and cabin in great detail and even exposes the V8 under the hood. Make yourself comfortable and hit Play!

The footage is barely above three minutes long and stars what looks like the rumored 2024MY Mustang GT model. The camera person zooms in quite a bit, until at 1:30 you can see the interior… with a Bullitt badge on the steering wheel. Somebody might think this was indeed a Bullitt test mule, but we beg to differ. The chances of that happening are near zero, so we assume someone just slapped on that badge for fun – or to confuse us.

What truly inspires is the engine soundtrack, which reaches its climax at 2:28 during a short acceleration phase. The sound unmistakably belongs to an eight-cylinder mill. As for the photos, everything seems standard on those: the wheels are current-gen Mustang GT fare, the cladding is still heavy, and the two bumps on the roof likely mean an air scoop or vent, but we will not know for sure until the camo goes away.
