Video: 55-year-old Chevy Camaro gets reimagined as a badass, 800-HP track tool

Many car enthusiasts will agree that tuning doesn’t really ever end – there is always more left to improve. This is how this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro was born, a car that, while not perfect, can still show some modern supercars the taillights.

The author of the project claims he did everything himself. Exterior mods to the Camaro include recessed headlights, more up-to-date door handles, unique 18-inch wheels and a cabin styled to resemble that of the 2004 Pontiac GTO. Aside from seats with enhanced lateral support, the interior now features a robust roll cage – and not just because it looks cool.

The matter is, the restomod conceals a massive Big Block V8 under the hood with 8.2 liters of displacement and around 800 horsepower (600 kilowatts) at the output end. A Tremec six-speed manual gearbox directs the torque to the wheels. Other notable project highlights include a custom subframe, a new rear axle, and C6 Corvette front suspension and brakes.

Watch the video for an overview of this remarkable Camaro supercar.
