Video: BMW M240i, Civic Type R and Golf R walk into a drag strip

Carwow never ceases to look for fun new ways to compare driver-oriented cars. The latest video puta a BMW M240i up against a Civic Type R and a Golf R.

The M240i wins on paper with a 3.0-liter inline-six turbo under the hood sending 378 PS (373 hp / 278 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque to both ends. The Honda lags behind with its front-wheel drive and a 2.0-liter four-pot rated at just 320 PS (316 hp / 235 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque. The Volkswagen Golf R packs the same amount of power, but benefits from all-wheel drive.

The drive type ends up playing the decisive role in the first seconds of the first race, with the BMW and Volkswagen pulling forward and leaving the Honda for dead. The second race sees the Japanese car pull itself together and show a much better result. But which one gets to win? As usual, watch and find out!
