Car Tuning

Would you have your Audi RS 6 Avant trimmed with Alcantara like this?

Most automakers tend to use artificial suede strategically, avoiding putting too much of it on surfaces that tend to get dirty or dusty easily. Still, if you happen to be a fan of Alcantara being everywhere, German tuning shop PS-Sattlerei is happy to oblige.

The project car in the photos has the dark grey material on the headliner, the door panels, the dashboard, the transmission tunnel and the steering column. Bright red stitching creates the much-needed contrast.

Powering the performance wagon is its usual 600-PS (592-hp / 442-kW) V8 hooked onto an eight-speed automatic transmission driving all four wheels.

If you would rather get Alcantara trim straight from the factory, Audi does offer such an option, but only for the headliner and only as long as you opt for the €770 Bang & Olufsen audio system at the same time. Back when the owner of this Audi ordered it re-trimmed at PS-Sattlerei, the terms made even less sense: you had to buy a €6,000 speaker system in order to get access to the Alcantara headliner option.
