Next-gen VW Tiguan crops up on fresh spy shots

Motor1 has shared photos of the third-generation Volkswagen Tiguan being tested in a pre-production new body. The crew that prepared it for the tests did its best to disguise it as the current generation (watch the video and compare if you feel like it).

The modification caught on camera is the stretched Allspace, which apparently now has a completely different front end, revised headlights, a new radiator grille and an original bumper with a massive air intake in the middle. Note how sharply slanted the c-pillars are, lending the whole roof a curvier, sportier appearance.

Inside, the main feature is a large infotainment display rising above the dashboard. The car also gets an ID.4-style digital dashboard, by the look of it.

There is still no word on the powertrains, but rumors insist that buyers will be able to choose from traditional ICE cars, hybrids and full-on EVs.

The new Tiguan could go on sale in 2024 or close.
