Volvo EX90 to debut on November 9 with smart tech on board

The all-electric replacement for the Volvo XC90 is coming soon: according to Volvo Cars CEO Jim Rowan, it will be called the EX90 and will hit the spotlight on November 9, 2022.
In a video dedicated to the impending premiere, the company invites us to look at the safety assists the car will get in its base specification. As it turns out, the EV comes pre-equipped with a number of cameras, sensors, laser radars and special software means of monitoring the environment and the driver.
On the outside, the EX90 utilizes state-of-the-art LiDAR tech along with 16 ultrasonic scanners, eight cameras and five radars to be aware of its surroundings at all times. This allegedly enables it to detect even non-reflective obstacles, such as rubber tires scattered on the road within the distance of 120 meters (394 feet), or pedestrians within 250 meters (820 feet) – all of it while driving at 120 km/h (75 mph).
Another smart assist feature will be assigned to the driver to monitor the movements of their eyes and hands using assorted sensors and cameras. Volvo says this is essential to make sure the driver is aware of the road situation and interprets it correctly.
