How would you react to your test-drive Ferrari doing down in flames like this?

Tarek Salah has shared a video from his ill-fated trip from the USA to France to buy a particularly well-maintained 1994 Ferrari F355. During a test drive with the owner behind the wheel, it spontaneously caught fire and ended up completely destroyed.

Salah began filming a video inside the car, saying he had long dreamt about riding an F355 on the streets of France. After a short sightseeing trip, they went to a mechanic to check up on the technical condition of the Italian exotic.

The car had different plans in store, though. Salah said he could smell gasoline at some point, but convinced himself it was not important. Shortly afterwards, a driver from an adjacent lane waved them over to tell them they had smoke coming from under the hood.

By then, it was too late. Both the owner and the prospective buyer got out of the car without incident, but it proceeded to combust and burn down almost completely before firefighters could arrive to the scene. Salah was visibly saddened by this turn of events, commenting that the car seemed well-maintained and belonged to a ‘very meticulous enthusiast.’ Adding insult to injury was the fact that it was an early F355 modification only produced until 1999, which its buyer optioned with sport seats.
