Check out the ideal Fiat 500 roadster for sunny beach trips

A unique Fiat 500 Jolly built for shoreside recreation is up for grabs in the UK right now. Fiat made these cars in the 1960s, but very few remain out of several hundred produced in total. Oh, and this one is a replica.

Someone ordered the car built in Italy based on a 1972 Fiat 500, asking the coachbuilder to target the Jolly roadster aesthetic. The company (uncredited) removed the glass dome and the doors, installing chromed guardrails instead. The a-pillars were chopped slightly, and the windshield lost its upper bezel. The roof is a simple, yet fashionable cloth top on supports.

The interior greets the viewer with idyllic wicker seats missing headrests, rattan floor mats and not a safety belt in sight – something the potential buyer may want to correct before taking the car driving.

Powering the dainty Italian ride is a half-liter two-cylinder engine rated at just 17 horsepower (13 kilowatts). A four-speed manual transmission carries the momentum to the back.

Prices are available upon request only. Hagerty points out that an original Jolly could set you back around $140,000 these days.
