New Subaru Impreza teased ahead of LA show reveal

Subaru has posted the first live photo of the new Impreza, offering a closer look at the car than an outline sketch from before gave us. The model – which now looks very similar to the Crosstrek SUV – is set to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 17.

It is believed that the car will come based on the same global platform as the Crosstrek and the Levorg, which increases structural rigidity while reducing noise and vibrations. It may also gain access to a wider selection of EyeSight electronic assists.

Compared to the Crosstrek model shown in the rest of the gallery here and the attached video, the new Impreza looks like it has the same or similar hood, lights and radiator grille. The trim pieces at the sides of the front bumper are possibly the only difference that stands out.

The powertrain options will probably stay the same, especially the 2,0-liter naturally aspirated flat-four engine rated at 152 PS (150 hp / 112 kW). Still, Subaru may want to expand the lineup with a hybrid version based on the same engine or a larger 2.5-liter one.
