Zagato sails an all-electric luxury boat

Zagato, an automotive design company famous for its collaborations with numerous high-end carmakers, has unveiled a luxury-laden motorboat called Persico Zagato 100.2. The vessel sports a minimalist design and comes in a production run of nine examples for collectors, with two electric motors to choose between.

The boat features a composite construction and displaces 2.5 metric tons of water. It sports smooth and laconic outlines with a small window at the front end and wood lining. The passenger area offers a couple of seats and a bench, but some images reveal additional reclining seats installed at the back. A step for getting into and out of the water can be found at the tail-end.

The Sport spec relies on single water-jet motor producing 279 PS (275 hp / 205 kW) from an 83-kWh traction battery. Its cruising speed equals 48 km/h (30 miles per hour), while the top speed is 80 km/h (50 mph). When fully charged, the electric boat can cover up to 28 nautical miles, or 32.2 land miles, or a touch under 52 kilometers.

The other spec is called Long Range and couples the same motor with two battery packs. Its cruise and top speeds are marginally slower due to the added weight, but the range is extended to 47 nautical miles, or 54 land miles, or 88 kilometers.

The prices aren’t disclosed, but Zagato promises vast customization opportunities ensuring that each example is unique. The assembly will take place at Persico Marine with the first deliveries set for late 2023.
