Porsche working on a full-size battery-electric SUV

The German sports car maker is getting ready to reveal its next flagship, an SUV positioned above the latest Cayenne and armed with cutting-edge technology to rival the BMW iX and the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV.
Ideologically, the crossover will be related to the new Macan and Cayenne models (the latter is featured in the gallery and the video below), but not without quirks. Among other things, the manufacturer promises us a dynamic exterior ‘at the crossroads of the SUV and sedan worlds.’
Like the Macan EV, the still-unnamed newcomer will run on PPE underpinnings. Its 920V power architecture will ensure lightning-fast charging, while a 100-kWh traction battery should be enough for 700 km (435 miles) of range or so, the company notes.
Four-wheel steering and individual torque control will enable the rear wheels to turn up to 5 degrees independently from the rest. As for the powertrain, it remains to be detailed.
When the full-size SUV reaches the market, chances are it will be priced much higher than the top-spec Cayenne with its £150,000 ($180,000). Despite this, Porsche seems confident in its success. Last year alone, 60 percent of all cars the company sold were Macans and Cayennes. Furthermore, other luxury car marques – Bentley, Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce – have all admitted that SUVs were their best-selling vehicles by far in 2022.
