Lamborghini waves Aventador goodbye… yes, again

The Italian supercar maker decided it was time to say farewell to the Aventador series and the naturally aspirated V12s, too. Meet the Invencible Coupe and the Autentica Roadster.
If you are getting a strong déjà vu after reading this, that’s probably because Lamborghini had tried to send the Aventador model to its permanent retirement more than once. With the Ultimae Edition out, we were not really expecting further spin-offs, yet here they are.
Both cars use the standard Aventador chassis and powertrain, while the differences boil down to visual details, carbon-fiber bodywork and motorsport technologies under the hood. Both are visibly inspired by iconic Lamborghinis, notably the Sesto Elemento and the Essenza SCV12.
The interior lacks a central display, with the carmaker pointing out that it was removed to give an ‘airy’ feel to the cockpit. Material-wise, the trim makes intensive use of carbon fiber, Alcantara and natural leather.
Powering both the Invencible and the Autentica is a standard 6.5-liter non-turbo V12. A seven-speed semi-auto transmission sends 780 PS (769 hp / 574 kW) and 720 Nm (531 lb-ft) of torque to all four wheels.
