Drag Race: Cadillac Escalade-V vs. Ram TRX

Hennessey Performance has compared a Cadillac Escalade-V against a Ram 1500 TRX on the quarter-mile strip. Neither of the vehicles was tuned: the Hennessey team just felt like comparing two stock heavyweights in terms of straight-line acceleration.
The TRS inches out a narrow advantage with 712 PS (702 hp / 524 kW) coming to the asphalt from its 6.2-liter V8. The Cadillac also has eight cylinders, but pushes out 691 PS (682 hp / 508 kW). On the upside, the Escalade-V weighs less than its rival does – a major advantage on the drag strip.
This means that the duo slams the tarmac with a combined 1,404 metric horsepower (1,384 U.S. horsepower or 1,032 kilowatts). However, the biggest difference for many buyers is in the pricing: the Escalade-V will set you back around $150,000 before options, while the Ram TRX can be had for $100,000 or so.
