2024 BMW X5 shows up in a teaser vid

BMW has released the first video featuring the facelifted X5 – or, more specifically, its illuminated front grille and lights. The launch date is still unannounced, but rumors say it is right around the corner.

We have already seen quite a bit of the SUV thanks to camo-free spy shots – you can find these farther down the gallery. They prompt the assumption that the headlights are slimmer, the front bumper trim is new, and the grille retains its pre-facelift size. The taillights will most likely have different LED patterns.

Inside, the Digital Cockpit should be updated to a more recent version. This includes two displays – 12.3 and 14.9 inches large – and the iDrive 8 operating system powering them. The center tunnel might get its own share of tweaks, perhaps losing a few physical buttons in the process.

Alterations are possible in the engine lineup, too. We expect BMW to power up at least some modifications slightly, replacing the X5 M50i with an M60i offering a 4.4-liter V8 in tandem with a 48V starter. The resulting mild hybrid system can be expected to produce 530 PS (523 hp / 380 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque. The X7, which was refreshed a year ago, might also supply a powertrain or two.
