A Ford GT Carbon could be yours for $0.7M, but likely much more than that

Cars&Bids is currently auctioning off a carbon-bodied Ford GT, which is being traded at $702,000 with plenty of time on the clock and everything in place for the end price to set a new record.

Making this example so precious is the fact that it is a rare Carbon edition of the supercar. This is not to say the normal GT was common – only 1,350 units ever rolled off the assembly lines. The Carbon Edition weighed 18 kilos (40 pounds) less than standard thanks to using lightweight carbon rims and engine bay cover, as well as a titanium exhaust system and some titanium hardware.

The first and only owner of the car has put around 16,000 km (10,000 miles) on it since 2019. It has a clean record and is in great condition.

An EcoBoost engine under the hood produces 656 PS (647 hp / 482 kW) and 746 Nm (550 lb-ft) of torque. A Getrag seven-speed DCT carries the torque to the wheels, letting the coupe accelerate to 348 km/h (216 mph).
