German tuning company Techart has opened a new department called Flyweight to build cars for track day enthusiasts. To promote it, it has announced a series of street-legal track weapons called the GTstreet R Flyweight.

Only 19 units will be made based on the most recent Porsche 911 Turbo S. The project improves upon the tuner’s own GTstreet R design from two years ago while keeping it suitable for road driving.

The new version boasts a splitter, side fins with canards, vented front fenders and a two-piece rear wing adjustable in three positions. Formula VI Race Flyweight forged rims are installed in 20 inches front and 21 inches rear, lowering the unsprung weight by 4.8 kilos (around 10 pounds). The tires used are Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R. The suspension benefits from Öhlins shocks and a new track-day setting called Techart Flyweight.

The interior has no rear bench and only offers a pair of Recaro Podium CF seats with 3D-printed headrests and six-point safety harnesses. The mandatory Head and Neck Support (HANS) is also installed.

Like the GTstreet R before it, the build uses a 3.8-liter flat-six engine boosted from its original 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW) to 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW). The torque goes up from 800 to 950 Nm (from 590 to 701 lb-ft).

The engine upgrade kit is known as the Powerkit TA092/T2.1. It incorporates turbos, filters, new ECU firmware for the engine and the transmission, and a custom exhaust system helping shave off another 2.8 kilos (6.1 pounds) of weight.

On the whole, the GTstreet R Flyweight is around 60 kilos (132 pounds) lighter than the previous build, letting it accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.5 seconds, to 200 km/h (124 mph) in 7.5 seconds and max out somewhere north of 350 km/h (217 mph).

The pricing details haven’t been announced yet, but the pre-orders are already running.
