Novitec begins work on the Ferrari 296 GTB

The tuners over at Novitec have been carrying out all kinds of Ferrari-based projects lately, but it is only now that they turned their attention to the part-electric 296 GTB.
From the onset, the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 was able to gain 50 metric horsepower after a relatively simple tune-up, raising the combined output from the stock 830 PS (819 hp / 619 kW) to 880 PS (868 hp / 647 kW). Modifications were apparently limited to an all-new exhaust system including catalysts and improved turbo intakes. As usual, the customers will get the choice between stainless steel and Inconel for the exhaust, the latter coming with optional pure gold plating for optimum heat dissipation.
In addition to that, the car was outfitted with 21-inch Vossen NF10 wheels at the front and 22-inch ones at the back. The suspension lost 35 mm (1.4 inches) of height, and a 40-mm (1.6-inch) lift was installed at the front axle to help drive over speed bumps and ease getting in and out of the car.
A body kit is still in development, as are many other options and accessories. Novitec claims that the end result will be faster than the formidable SF90, though, so we are excited.
