2024 Opel Grandland to go full-on electric

Opel plans to invest €130,000,000 into modernizing its plant in Eisenach, Germany that will handle the production of the next-gen Grandland SUV. It has now been announced that the model will run on the STLA Medium platform and have an all-electric powertrain when it reaches the assembly lines in the second half of 2024.

The company is not ready to share the power and torque specifics yet, but we do know that another STLA Medium car – the Peugeot 3008 – is coming to us with three electric options to choose from, including a dual-motor/AWD one. The battery range for the Peugeot is estimated at 700 km (435 miles). Since the Grandland is based on the same principal tech, it would be logical to expect something similar from it.

The current generation, featured in the gallery and the video below, received its latest update in 2021, ending up with a Visor front fascia and a Pure Panel cockpit with two displays.
