Spied: Next-gen Renault Scenic hitting the road

The new design iteration of the Renault Scenic compact van is prowling the streets in a new, SUV-like body. We assume it to be based on the Nissan Ariya EV architecture and powertrain, although it is not official yet. The reveal should take place in a couple of months.

No amount of camouflage can prevent us from seeing that the exterior is completely new. Even though still technically a prototype, the new Scenic looks like a typical SUV with a nearly upright radiator grille, slim headlights and widened pillars at the back, possibly with small windows in them.

The interior is not shown, but Autoevolution expects at least a large portrait-oriented head unit. The rest of the interior will most likely also be new.

A stub where the radiator grille is supposed to be is the dead giveaway that the model is all-electric. Renault may ship it in multiple flavors – with one or two electric motors and batteries sized up to 90 kWh.

In all likelihood, the sales will start either in late 2023 or early 2024. The Renault Scenic Vision Concept (see video) was introduced last spring.
