Hyundai shares the first images of its upcoming Mufasa SUV for China

We have already seen the patent shots of the Hyundai Mufasa, but this time around, the company gives us the official first look at the model set to replace the Hyundai ix35 in China, AutoHome reports.

The sketches give off strong ‘ostentatious masculinity’ vibes: the body outlines are sharp yet boxy, the hood has ventilation slits, the wheel arches do their best to stand out and the wheels are a couple sizes larger than they should be. Rounding off the unhinged look is a roof rack with auxiliary lighting.

If you look at the actual patent shots, the impression is that of a much tamer utility vehicle that nonetheless has C-shaped inserts near the headlights, an upright radiator grille and sculpted fenders.

Customers in China will be able to buy the Mufasa with a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine rated at 161 PS (159 hp / 118 kW). The remaining specs are undisclosed.
