Cadillac Lyriq-V development confirmed

The rumors that Cadillac was designing a powerful ‘V’ variant of its electric Lyriq SUV have been circulating for a while now, but these spy shots deliver the proof. The prototype may be cladded, but the performance parts are still visible.

The wrap fails to conceal slight design changes to the front fascia, as well as a mesh pattern in the lower bumper recesses – the standard Lyriq has nothing of the kind (watch the video if you feel like comparing yourself). On the other hand, Cadillaq often puts such trim on its V vehicles.

Furthermore, a closer look at the rear end reveals vertical fins of what appears to be a diffuser trim – another performance car trait that the stock Lyriq doesn’t have.

Last but not least, the entire body appears to be trimmed with black details and no chrome whatsoever. This makes us confident that the test car is none other than the rumored Lyriq-V.

V-series models traditionally offer a performance boost over their stock counterparts. In this case, we would realistically expect on the order of 600 horsepower (450 kilowatts) in total.
