Special VW Golf looks the part thanks to JMS

The Volkswagen Golf GTI may be no Golf R, but it is still a highly capable hot hatch – especially in the Clubsport version with optimized brakes, suspension and handling, as well as a mild power boost. But while all of the above is nice, none of it makes the car stand out from the crowd. Cue in JMS Fahrzeugteile, a tune-up shop based in Germany.

This particular Golf GTI is guaranteed to be an eye-catcher thanks to its vivd green wrap bearing the logos of all the brands that donated performance parts to it. The roof is kept black for contrast, and the hood sports what looks like a fairly convincing ‘carbon fiber’ wrap. Rounding off the body mods are a front spoiler, a rear diffuser insert and side sill extensions.

A look at the arches reveals gorgeous Barracuda Racing wheels borrowed from the company’s Dragon Ultralight series. The Golf normally comes with 18-inch wheels while 19-inch ones are optionally available, but these measure 20 inches in diameter. To ensure a sporty and aerodynamic look, JMS drops the suspension by a whopping 45 mm (1.8 inches) at the front and 40 mm (1.6 inches) at the rear. This is especially impressive considering that the Clubsport version already rides 15 mm (0.6 inches) lower than the standard GTI.

Everything stays unchanged in the power department, meaning that the Golf GTI still churns out 300 PS (296 hp / 221 kW) to the wheels. On the other hand, it does make use of an aftermarket exhaust system for a juicier soundtrack. The interior seems stock, too.
