Chery iCar 03 presents cabin

Chery continues revealing its iCar 03 compact electric SUV in China. The exterior was first shown at the Shanghai show in April, but the interior had stayed a mystery until now.

According to AutoHome, the production will begin in October. The first deliveries will be made before the end of the year, and the minimum price will be around 150,000 Yuan.

The crossover SUV has two displays on the dashboard along with a separate touchscreen for the front passenger used to adjust temperature, music volume and ambient lighting brightness. The head unit displays i-VA, a girl mascot and infotainment assistant. The system supports remote phone connections and can display the footage from the surround-view cameras.

The steering wheel has three spokes and offers capacitive buttons along with scrollers. The transmission tunnel houses a wireless charging pad, two cup holders and a crystal-glass drive mode selector. Drivers get 10 modes to switch between.

Other than that, the technical details are scarce. We know on official terms that the car is 4.2 meters (13.78 feet) long with 2.7 meters (8.86 feet) of wheelbase. The body is made of stainless steel and aluminum, and the suspension is independent on each wheel. The powertrain is said to be ‘on par with 2.5-liter petrol turbo’, but that’s about it.

The standard spec includes more than 20 different sensors meant to deliver L2+ self-driving capability. A sunroof with a sliding section is available at a premium.
