Toyota prepares a three-row SUV EV for the United States

Toyota has officially announced the development of a new battery-powered crossover SUV that will be sold in the USA and offer seven seats. The company pointed out that the production would also take place in North America, reinforcing its principle of ‘produce where you sell’.

The upcoming SUV will be the first all-electric vehicle that the Japanese company will make in the States, specifically in Kentucky where the Camry and the RAV4 are made. You will find these in the gallery below, because there are still no official images of the new SUV. The technical specs also remain to be announced.

All we know right now is that Toyota plans to ship the car with its own, proprietary traction battery pack produced in North Carolina. A battery factory is under construction in that state right now, due to be commissioned in 2025 with six assembly lines. Out of those, two lines will be producing power packs for EVs and the remaining four for hybrids.
