Peugeot 3008 shows the evolution of the i-Cockpit

Automaker Peugeot introduced its i-Cockpit system as far back as 2010 with the debut of the SR1 Concept. A couple of years later, the innovative dashboard design made it into the Peugeot 208. A new and improved version of it is coming in September.

Dubbed the Panoramic i-Cockpit, the novelty will be revealed simultaneously with the new Peugeot 3008 (see video). Browse the gallery below for some official images of the new i-Cockpit, which is now styled as a 21-inch curved display elevated above the dash panel. It is slightly rotated towards the driver and is complemented by i-Toggles, a touch-sensitive panel on the center console used to access various in-car functions.

The company highlights that the new layout is laconic thanks to the removal of hardware buttons and the gear lever (which was also reduced to buttons). Doing so enabled the designers to create a larger wireless charging pad.
