Car Tuning

Video: This is how you tune a BMW M2… toy car

The YouTube team over at Jakarta Diecast Project has filmed a video detailing the customization process of a BMW M2 replica by Hot Wheels. It may be just a toy car, but the tuners took care to follow the procedure to the letter and even went as far as to fabricate custom parts for it.

The process began with a complete teardown of the scale model and stripping every body part of chrome and paint. While he was at it, the host removed all the bulges from the bottom plate in order to lower the suspension even further.

The toy M2 ended up with cut-out arches housing larger and more efficient wheels, as well as all-new, custom-fabricated parts in its load-bearing frame, bumpers and rear wing.

The imitated 6.2-liter V8 and the cabin were borrowed straight from the Hot Wheels catalog, but the bucket seats used looked unique – we were unable to find out their origin.
