China-based automaker Nio has removed the wraps from its latest large saloon, the ET7. First batches to ship will offer between 500 and 700 kilometers (310 – 435 miles) of range, but a 1000-km (621-mile) option should become available later on.
The standard spec hits the asphalt with an impressive 653 PS (644 hp / 480 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque. Prices range between 448,000 and 526,000 Chinese Yuan ($69,100 - $81,200 USD), but you can save by renting the battery instead of buying. For example, opting for a base-spec ET7 and a rental battery will shave 70,000 Yuan ($10,800 USD) off the minimum price stated above.
The trim is quite lavish with multi-contour front seats supporting massage, heating and ventilation, a high-end audio system of 23 speakers, adaptive air-ride suspension, an infotainment system with a display nearly 13 inches across, and a digital dashboard.
Autonomy options include 33 sensors, radars and LIDARs, 11 cameras, and a high-end computer system said to be several times as powerful as the Tesla one.
