Bonhams is currently looking for buyers willing to take possession of an exclusive all-electric hypercar made in China, the NIO EP9. Only 16 units was made in total, and this particular example is the only one to wear a livery by artist Nicolai Sclater.
The listing specifies NIO itself as the seller. The description says the vehicle underwent rigorous testing at racing courses in Great Britain, Malaysia and China before being sent off to the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los-Angeles.
The important thing to note is that the vehicle is being sold as a display car without a battery and some other critical powertrain components. However, the company says the new owner will be able to request all the missing components back should they decide to actually drive the EP9.
Powering the electric hypercar is a multi-motor system rated at 1,360 PS (1,341 hp / 1,000 kW) and 1,480 Nm (1,092 lb-ft) of torque. The sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) succeeds in mere 2.7 seconds, and the top speed lies as high up as 313 km/h (194.5 miles per hour). Once fully charged, the manufacturer-rated driving range is 425 km (264 miles).
