According to multiple media sources, Nissan is currently developing a new electric crossover SUV for the North American market. Reportedly, the production car will be based on the IMx Concept depicted here.
The vehicle should be comparable to the Nissan Rogue in terms of body dimensions and have a Murano-like cabin design. It may also get certain stylistic features from the IMx Kuro.
The sources claim a private premiere of the SUV was held in August. The car was based on a brand-new platform and came equipped with the IMx powertrain (429 hp / 320 kW, 700 Nm / 516 lb-ft total). It had around 480 km (300 miles) of range.
The interior trim is being described as ‘minimalistic’, like in Tesla and Porsche cars. Most functions are accessible via touch panels, and the only hardware button on the dashboard is the engine start/stop button.
The alleged Nissan IMx should be revealed during the Tokyo Auto Salon coming up next month.
