Hyundai and Kia have really set a market trend towards cheap subcompact crossover SUVs, and Nissan picks it up now with the announcement of a brand-new CUV scheduled for launch later in the year.
The car goes without a name so far, and all we know about it is that it was co-designed with Nissan India and will be targeting the market of that country first and foremost.
The soft-roader will likely be based on the CMF-A chassis of the Renault Triber, Renault Kwid, and Datsun redi-GO. The Triber will probably also provide the engine, specifically a turbocharged three-cylinder mill burning petrol for 95–100 horsepower (71–75 kilowatts).
