Nissan and Datsun have successfully patented the trademark ‘Magnite’ in relation to a still unannounced mini-SUV that is under 4 meters (13.1 feet) long and targets the Indian market first and foremost.
Based on the images submitted during the registration, the car will boast a sporty coupe-shaped body, LED headlights and sculpted wheel arches. It will likely be based on the CMF-A chassis of the Renault Triber and Kwid, as well as the Datsun redi-GO.
A one-liter gasoline engine rated at approximately 100 hp (75 kW) will reside under the hood, linked to a manual gearbox (although semi-automatic transmission should be a paid option).
The premiere is expected in the second or third quarter of 2020.
