Nissan keeps promising us a next-gen Z sports car soon, which rumor claims will be based on the same platform as the 370Z, but feature a 400-hp VR30 six-cylinder turbo. Well, YouTuber ThatDudeInBlue got tired of waiting, so he had one built ahead of schedule.
Z1 Motorsports carried out the swap. The donor engine was taken from an Infiniti Q50/Q60 Red Sport and put under the hood of a normal 370Z. Surprisingly enough, the unit slotted in just fine and did not affect clearance all that much.
In an effort to up the ante, the tuner then boosted it further to 460 PS (454 hp / 338 kW) and 637 Nm (470 lb-ft) of torque. The body ended up with a sleek aerodynamic kit and a roll cage. What is even more interesting, while the VR30 cannot be obtained normally with a manual gearbox, ThatDudeInBlue still paired it up with the 370Z stick shift system by replacing the flywheel and the clutch. The end result is a sport car capable of far faster acceleration and starts than the stock 370Z.
