According to reports from Japan, Nissan seems to be developing the first all-electric Kei car on record, which should debut next year and go on sale in that country exclusively.
The images aren’t there yet, but it would be logical for the production car to be based on the iMK Concept featured in our gallery here. The project is allegedly being carried out by NMKV, a joint enterprise between Nissan and Mitsubishi. As such, a Mitsubishi-badged clone could also be released with a different exterior and same tech.
The source claims that the vehicle is shaping up to be the largest Kei car yet, maxing out at 3.4 meters (the maximum allowed size for this vehicle category). The battery will amount to 20 kWh in size, which should give it around 150 kilometers of WLTP driving range.
