Tiny Nissan IMk EV spied testing in North America

Nissan unveiled the subcompact-sized IMk Concept in October 2019, touting it as a ‘commuter vehicle’, and the first running prototypes have just been sighted in the United States.

It is official that the production car is 3,395 mm (132.6 inches) long, 1,475 mm (57.6 inches) wide and 1,655 mm (64.6 inches) tall. Nissan also mentioned the battery capacity of 20 kilowatt-hours. The driving range was not disclosed, but 20 kWh seems quite adequate for a miniature car to drive to work and then back home.

The IMk supports bidirectional charging, which means that its owners will be able to drain some of its battery to power household appliances during blackouts. The automaker also advertises it as a car with smooth handling and instant acceleration.

Sales will initially begin in Japan in 2022, with the base price estimated at U.S. $18,000 after subsidies.
