The all-electric Japanese Nissan IMx Concept crossover was one of the highlights of the past year’s Tokyo Auto Salon. Now it seems like it won’t be based on an existing car, too.
The manufacturer had initially planned to release the crossover on the same platform as the latest Nissan Leaf. However, it now became clear that the company chose to build the new vehicle from scratch instead.
While no precise data exists regarding the new car platform, its very existence is intriguing enough. We’ll keep you posted on any further updates.
The original Nissan IMx Concept was shown with two electric motors together capable of 430 hp and 516 Nm torque. The car was reported to have an on-battery driving range of 600 kilometers (~375 miles).
The new Nissan IMx should see its official premiere before the end of 2018.
