The famous Japanese car brand Nissan has devised an original way to showcase its latest achievements in self-driven car tech. Its new parking assistant, ProPilot Park, has been shown driving house slippers, bed pillows and small tables across hotel premises.
The same technology has initially been intended to effect safe parking for unmanned cars. It takes advantage of wide arrays of cameras and ultrasonic sensors to determine where and when it is safe to park. Apparently, it can also be installed on house slippers to help them find their way back to where they usually stand in a hotel room.
This isn’t the first time Nissan toys around with autonomous / self-driving tech like that. A little while ago the company showed us some office armchairs obediently rolling back to their respective tables after being misplaced somewhere in a large open space. You only need to clap your hands to prompt your “stray” armchair to come back home.
