Nissan shows 370Zki, a track-mounted roadster

The Japanese car giant Nissan has been teasing its fans with vague hints about a mysterious new car for quite some time. Now that the 2018 Chicago Auto Show starts just in a few days, it decided to drop the veil and introduce  the vehicle officially. Meet Nissan 370Zki, a sports roadster on tracks.

Brand representatives said they wanted to create a vehicle for a brand new kind of winter sports – and it seems like a success. The Nissan 370Zki Roadster stands aloof on its 122 cm (47.5”) long tracks made in North America. In order to install these, company engineers had to suspend the vehicle a bit higher, design new spring attachments from scratch, and extend the wheel arches. They also had quite a bit of work designing the braking system.

Before they outfitted their Nissan 370Zki Roadster with snowshoes, they first had to rework the front part of the suspension completely and install a protection plate on the 322-horsepower engine.
