Nissan is bringing a number of design studies to the impending Japan Mobility Show, and one of the flashier ones is this crossover SUV named Hyper Punk.
The car rides on 23-inch wheels and has an angular, futuristic design. The interior is just as wild with a yoke-shaped steering wheel and no physical switches anywhere you look. Everything seems to be controlled via gestures or touch interfaces.
The interior space, which was designed with origami in mind, is advertised as a ‘mobile creative studio.’ To that end, the car uses multiple cameras to capture its surroundings, analyze them with an on-board AI and reprocess the footage into virtual landscapes to be displayed at a trio of screens inside. The same AI system also monitors the state of the driver and the passengers and tries to pick the most appropriate ambient lighting and music.
