The Japanese Nissan Motor Company has held an official premiere event dedicated to the next generation of its Nissan Terra SUV model. Unlike its Chinese sibling, the South-Pacific version of the car features a diesel engine and a third seat row.
The updated vehicle uses the platform of the Nissan Navara pickup truck. It comes driven by a 2.5-liter diesel motor rated at 190 hp (142 kW), which works in tandem with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed automatic one. Its other equipment includes rear diff lock, transfer gearbox, and on-demand AWD.
The interior features an advanced infotainment system with Bluetooth and smartphone integration, an all-around camera view system, leather-draped seats, and power driver’s seat. Driver aids include lane control, blind spot monitor, and hill descent control.
Nissan will soon launch production of its body-on-frame SUV in Thailand and ship the first batch to Philippines, followed by Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Brunei, Indonesia and even Australia.
