The next-generation, North America-only Nissan Altima sedan has been officially introduced at the New York International Auto Show, with sales launch scheduled for this fall.
The updated Nissan Altima has changed quite a bit on the outside and now sports a rather agile and aggressive appearance. Its interior design has also undergone an overhaul – note the new large-display dashboard, for instance.
For the first time in the history of the brand, the generational update of the Nissan Altima sedan gets a 2.0-liter variable-compression gasoline engine, also known as the VCR. The relatively modest-sized unit can output up to 248 hp (185 kW) and 370 Nm (273 lb·ft) of torque. Another model will ship with a normal 2.5-liter V4 engine rated at 188 hp (140 kW).
