Nissan has facelifted its Altima sedan for North America, dropping the 2.0-liter VC-Turbo engine from the lineup.
The engine, which featured variable compression ratios and made 251 PS (248 hp / 185 kW), has apparently sold poorly compared to the alternatives.
This leaves a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine mated to an Xtronic CVT the only option for Altima buyers in the United States. Nissan still offers AWD for the car – a rare option in its class – but it drops the output from 191 to 185 PS (from 188 to 182 hp; from 140 to 136 kW, accordingly).
Prices for the pre-facelift version start around $27,000.
