Nissan announces a full-size e-SUV based on Ariya tech

The Japanese automotive company plans to expand its product range in China and North America by developing a large crossover utility vehicle running on electric power. Growing consumer demand is quoted as one of the leading reasons.

The new model does not have a name yet, but it is official that it comes based on the CMF-EV platform of the recently launched Ariya and has at least 500 kilometers (310 miles) of driving range. The Ariya, which you can take a closer look at in our gallery and the video, gets the same range from its 87-kWh battery.

No launch timeframe has been provided yet. Nissan intends to electrify half of its model range by 2023.
